From the time I was very young I could entertain myself with my big imagination. As a child I often hosted stylized photo shoots with my mini-dachshund, poor guy. Looking back, this was where my love for photography started, but it has grown into so much more. Something literally clicked for me in my twenties when I realized that the camera I was always carrying around could help capture memories for other people too. I feel blessed to be able to curate life's special moments. I look forward to meeting you!
Well hello there.
Simplicity Photography was established in 2013 as a creative outlet for sisters Melanie & Sarah. We have been described as a blend of old school meets new school, which translates into our work as well. We capture authentic moments between families & couples and produce timeless photographs; memories that will be passed down through your family for years to come. Our love for nature & the great outdoors is what helped identify ourselves as natural-light photographers.
When deciding on a name for our business we came up with many, many names but Simplicity seemed so fitting. For us the name exemplifies that we all need to stop and go back to the basics, quality time with the ones we love, to appreciate what matters the most in life.

"For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in this world with simplicity, and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you." 2 Corinthians 1:12
Photography has always been my artful muse--carrying a camera and capturing the expected and unexpected moments of everyday life. It was not until after college when I was at my first job that people began to notice I had an eye and my photographs began to be published in magazines, articles and ads. At first, I thought they were being polite. Then I went to a few weddings, talked to friends and family, and began researching other photographers. I realized having my own business, pursuing my passion and accepting the challenge was worth starting. I've loved meeting new people, capturing their story and making a dream become a reality. Our clients are like family. They've graciously let us into their lives to share some of their most precious moments and I look forward to sharing your special memories with you.
